{"id":26887,"date":"2020-02-06T11:04:03","date_gmt":"2020-02-06T11:04:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mioli.wpengine.com\/?p=26887"},"modified":"2024-01-25T11:27:24","modified_gmt":"2024-01-25T11:27:24","slug":"exercise-for-older-people-janets-story","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.moveitorloseit.co.uk\/exercise-for-older-people\/exercise-for-older-people-janets-story\/","title":{"rendered":"Janet&#8217;s Story &#8211; Exercise for Older People"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;\">There are many reasons why my life has changed, all because of &#8220;Move it or Lose it!&#8221;.\u00a0 I was born with curvature of the spine and also suffered a stroke affecting my right hand side making walking a painful event, but now I can walk between 7,000 and 8,000 steps a day without pain.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;\">In my everyday life I am aware of quite a few improvements including bending down correctly to wash the kitchen floor.\u00a0 Opening the fire doors in the flats where I live is much easier and my grip for opening jars is much stronger. I can also reach up to high cupboards more easily.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;\">I live on the fourth floor of my block of flats and do have the option of taking the lift but can now take the stairs. This is a slower option but I do it and it&#8217;s really worthwhile.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;\">In one year I have improved in body and mind.
