{"id":34608,"date":"2021-07-28T12:10:54","date_gmt":"2021-07-28T11:10:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.moveitorloseit.co.uk\/?p=34608"},"modified":"2024-01-25T12:44:57","modified_gmt":"2024-01-25T12:44:57","slug":"move-it-or-lose-it-class-member-john-in-the-spotlight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.moveitorloseit.co.uk\/move-it-or-lose-it-class\/move-it-or-lose-it-class-member-john-in-the-spotlight\/","title":{"rendered":"Move it or Lose it Class member, John, in the spotlight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This month we&#8217;re sharing the story of John, one of our Move it or Lose it class members from Rainhill in Merseyside.<\/p>\n<p>John, who goes to classes with his lovely wife Kath, recently celebrated his 98th birthday and his instructor Chris McGowan and all the class members really enjoyed making a fuss of him.<\/p>\n<p>Class members knew that John is a WWII &amp; D-day Landings Veteran and are all very proud of him, but in his birthday week John\u2019s wife shared some amazing information about him.<\/p>\n<p>John was awarded the high honour of \u2018Chevalier de la legion d\u2019honneur\u2019 in recognition of his acknowledged military engagement and steadfast involvement in the liberation of France during the Second World War. Although\u00a0John didn\u2019t want a fuss, and was very humble about this, he agreed that Chris could to share his story, and he even brought in his medal to the class.<\/p>\n<p>Chris says &#8220;John and Kath are an inspiration to us all, and a very special couple, well known to lots of people in Rainhill.
