They found that people who were more socially engaged \u2014 those who regularly spent time with family or friends, volunteered, joined social clubs, took part in community activities, or simply enjoyed outings and hobbies with others \u2014 were significantly <em data-start=\"1160\" data-end=\"1173\">less likely<\/em> to become frail.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1194\" data-end=\"1351\">Even more inspiring, those who increased their social engagement over time were <em data-start=\"1274\" data-end=\"1298\">more likely to recover<\/em> from frailty and regain strength and independence.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1353\" data-end=\"1519\">On the other hand, higher levels of loneliness were linked to a greater risk of becoming frail and made it harder for people to bounce back once frailty had set in.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1521\" data-end=\"1653\">In short: feeling connected, valued, and part of something bigger doesn\u2019t just make us happier \u2014 it keeps our bodies stronger too.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1655\" data-end=\"1683\">Why connection matters<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1685\" data-end=\"1935\">Frailty isn\u2019t just about physical weakness; it\u2019s a complex state that affects strength, balance, and energy levels, leaving people more vulnerable to falls, illness, and loss of independence. But this study reminds us that frailty isn\u2019t inevitable.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1937\" data-end=\"2217\">Social connection boosts both mind and body. When we feel part of a group, we\u2019re more likely to stay active, eat well, sleep better, and manage stress.
